Persian Termeh — Iran’s Most Precious Handwoven Textile

Termeh (ترمه) is one of the oldest and most revered textiles in Persian cultural history — a handwoven brocade fabric produced for over five centuries in the workshops of Yazd, Iran’s textile capital. Made on traditional hand-operated looms from a combination of wool warp threads and silk or fine wool weft, Termeh is defined by its characteristic raised pattern — botanical motifs, paisleys, and geometric arabesques that seem to emerge from the surface of the fabric rather than being printed onto it.

The weight and density of authentic Yazdi Termeh is unlike any printed or machine-woven imitation. When you hold a genuine piece, you feel the resistance of hand-twisted threads, the slight unevenness that is the signature of the handloom, and the way the colors shift slightly as the light catches the silk weft from different angles. At Ersaly, every Termeh product in our collection is sourced directly from master weavers in Yazd, the city that has produced Iran’s finest Termeh for five hundred years.

Termeh Tablecloths & Table Runners — The Heart of the Persian Table

The most traditional use of Termeh is at the table. A Termeh tablecloth transforms an ordinary surface into an occasion — it is the textile that Iranians lay out for Eid, Nowruz, weddings, and family gatherings where the table itself becomes a statement of hospitality and taste. Our Termeh Tablecloth collection includes single-piece table runners and complete five-piece table sets (runner + four corner pieces) woven in Yazd in Afshar and Nagin Khatam designs.

Available in the classic color combinations of deep crimson and gold, midnight blue and silver, emerald green and copper, and multi-color Haft-rang (seven-color) patterns. From €49 for single pieces to €99 for complete five-piece sets.

3-Piece Termeh Tabletop Sets — for Smaller Tables & Gifting

Our three-piece tabletop sets offer a more compact format of the same woven tradition — a central runner with two matching side pieces. They fit rectangular dining tables for four to six people, are easily folded and stored, and make one of the most elegant Persian gifts for housewarmings and weddings. Woven in Yazd with the same Nagin Khatam and Afshar patterns as our full sets. From €49.

Termeh Bags & Clutches — Persian Textile Meets Contemporary Design

Our newest Termeh collection brings the handwoven fabric into everyday use as Termeh Bags and evening clutches. These pieces combine authentic Termeh fabric — either classic Yazdi brocade or velvet panels with Balochi hand-stitched embroidery — with contemporary bag formats: shoulder bags in polyester Termeh from €39, and velvet clutches with hand-stitched Balochi geometric stitchwork and gold-finish chains from €99. Each clutch is a handmade piece requiring several hours of embroidery — a genuine craft object that doubles as a statement accessory.

Termeh Bedspread — a Bedroom Statement

A Termeh bedspread draped across a bed or a sofa changes the room. The combination of deep jewel-toned colors, raised surface patterns, and the way Termeh catches light creates an effect that no printed bedspread can replicate. Our Termeh bedspreads are woven in full Nagin Khatam patterns in Yazd, available in five-piece sets that include the main bedspread and matching smaller pieces. From €99.
