Ziauddin Qajar Iranian men’s clothing
The Qajar era (1789-1925) was a time of cultural and artistic achievements and political and social changes in Iran. The traditional clothing of men in this period was diverse and rich, consisting of several elements that varied in style, color, and material. The main elements were the hat, the shawl, the turban, the coat, the cloak, the belt, the trousers, the socks, and the shoes. The Persian men fashion expressed the prestige, identity, piety, dignity, and authority of the wearer, as well as the region, class, and occasion. The clothing was also practical, comfortable, and beautiful. The Qajar men’s clothing was a part of the Iranian heritage and art.
